- Upcoming Meetings – any information about upcoming meetings or seminars
- Chapter and Subunit Updates – chapter and subunit officers, here’s a chance to showcase the great work your group has been involved in.
- Fisheries News – new regulations, press releases, management success stories, public outreach, etc.
- Recent Publications – If you’ve recently published a book or paper, let us know!
Check out previous editions of our newsletters here for inspiration.
The submission deadline is March 28th. Submissions can be sent to Carolyn Merriam ([email protected]). In addition, the NED newsletter committee is looking for 1-2 people to join the editorial team. If you are interested, please contact Carolyn Merriam.

Read the Joint Statement of Natural Resource Societies on Federal Workforce Reduction Amidst the continued terminations of the nations’ federal workforce, the American Fisheries Society (AFS) joined forces with the Society of American Foresters (SAF), Society for Range Management (SRM), and The Wildlife Society (TWS) to issue a statement in support of federal employees and their critical work for conservation. The Societies expressed deep concerns regarding cuts to the federal workforce and how this will impact science, habitat management and restoration, public education and many other aspects of natural resource conservation in America.
Resource and Action Page for Federal Workforce Cuts
Federal employment terminations are affecting a large swath of our members, including not just federal employees, but also the state and academic partners who work with them. We’ve set up a resource and action page with job resources, a special code for employers to post free job ads, instructions for how to contact your legislators, a place to share stories of impacts, and the latest news.
